China is the largest nation in the world with the largest population also. It used to be emperors and the such and life was good but now that it is a communist country will it change. South Korea always in a constant war with its brother North Korea but it has managed to survive is it thanks to its form of government.
China's government is a communist one, Webster's Dictionary defines communism as "a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed" or "a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state owned means of production with the professed aim of establishing a stateless society" but what communism is, is a dream that is unattainable as long as greed exist and greed will exist as long as humans are alive therefore communism can not work.
Due to China's enormous population its economy is not all that great. But if the United States had 1.2 billion people then we would have a much bigger problem. If China did not have such a large population it would do much better. Unfortunately China can barely provide enough much food to provide for its self, and that is on good years during some years many people starve (1950,1960,1961) these were the hardest years on China.
China's living standards are still improving. People are able to produce enough food for them selves; at least enough to keep them alive, and they are becoming more modernized. Before it was not very ordinary to go into someone's house and see stylish clothing, modern furniture, and a wide array of electrical appliances, but now it is a very common thing to see such items in the house of some one in China.
