"Ideologies have provided us with a basis from which we can determine the thinking and rationale that are used by decision marker." (Ideologies' assignment hand out, Mr. Fenn) After reading and discussing the three main ideologies, Liberalism, Conservatism, and Socialism (written by Andrew Vincent) it shows how they have laid the foundation of social and political development of the western world. The main areas that were looked at during the comparison of the three ideologies were; equality, government's role in the state and lives of its people, and the government's role in the economy.
             In the ideologies it proves that Liberalism, Conservatism, and Socialism all look at equality in a different perspective. The liberal's view equality, as equal rule for everyone. Their views are in the middle of the three. Conservatism believes that you get what you work for. They feel that equality is not important, that you will get what you work for, so if you don't work hard then you should not expect to be treated the same as a hard-working person would be. Socialist thinkers believe in complete and utter equality for everyone. There were different views of equality that it was not just limited to economic equality but, but also stood for social equality and political equality of suffrage for all citizens.
