             ought to attention. The music sells, but should our kids be listening to it? The music sends messages to people. It may be the right message or even the wrong message. How can people prevent this from going to far? Censorship is the answer. Censorship has always been a controversial question and a very interesting topic to talk about to one another. Should this be allowed to be on TV? Is it okay if we listen to this in school? Does America censor unnecessary subjects? There are plenty of topics about this subject and the how it affect people.
             It seems to be that in our society today, the words "1st Amendment" are thrown around like a rag doll. Paraphrased from the constitution, our first amendment as Americans is the freedom of speech. We can say as we feel, express ourselves, and basically be individuals. This right seems to be the razor sharp edge that divides democracy from communism. Because of this, we see a huge variety of cultures,religions, and most importantly, personal views. However, our first amendment is currently being placed on the back shelf so to speak.Censorship has been around for a while, as far back as the 1950's.
             Starting in 1951, radio stations banned Dottie O'Brien's "Four or Five Times" and Dean Martin's "Wham Bam, Thank You Ma'am fearing that it promoted sex. In 1954, Stephen Foster's songs were edited for the radio, cutting out the words "mass" and "darky". Songs were banned just because it promoted violence or drinking.
