Wild Plums

             The narrative of "Wild Plums", tries to show the importance for a human being to know things that otherwise nobody would tell. It tells about how delighted the narrator is about plums. The main character shows her sights of being persistent, curious, challenging and at the same time disobedient in her quest towards finding the taste of plums. She is persistent when she tries to discover what it was to go plumming. The narrator states her point of persistance when she says, " I knew it was no nice to go plumming, but I did not know why. I wanted to go once, so that I would understand. The women stopped at the house to invite mother. She explained that we did not care for wild plums, but father said we feared to taste the sacred seed test we be contrained to dwell forever in the nether regions" (pp.100). The narrator persists on knowing things she got interested. On the other hand, she demonstrates her curiosity when she comes out with the idea to discovers what mrs. Slump was !
             wearing, " I climbed out of the buggy without asking if i might. Teresa started to tell mother I was getting out, but waited to see what I intended to do. I was going to walk behind mrs. Slump. She had no stockings on, and the Sunday school women said, she did not wear underclothes. I wanted to see if this was so"(pp101). There is not knowing what she might do, but the narrator manages almost to be curious but also challenging. She is incredibly watchful and changeable. She talks and charms people, one can see that when she says, " They were going to sleep outdoors all night", i said. Mother shudded. Would you have gone with them? "mrs. Guare was with them, I parried, knowing all she did not say, " would you have gone? "Yes" (pp103). She is a girl of enormous spirit; life is hardly big enough for her. She is drenched in wastefulness and prettiness. She knows things. She gets inflexible through and foolish at times, Temperanmental and at the same tim
