In the movie Boys in the Hood, it most definitely reinforces black sterotype for the most part there are other sterotypes done in the movie. How??, by portraying blacks as always being low life trash and doing nothing to help benefit themselves. This is the typical American sterotype bout inner city black people, that they are always thugs and non-civilized people.
This is done very well, by the football players younger brother. He is protrayed as what you would call now a days as a "porch monkey". He is always sitting on the porch with forty ounce beer and talking bout how they going to do a criminal act. They also show him as a person who doesnt want to get out of poverty and just benefit off the system or take advantage of it. This movie also makes all blacks seem like murderous savages. That their first instinct to solve a problem is to shoot someone when an ordeal does not go the way they wanted it too. An example of this is when the one black person bumped into the football player and they almost got in a fight cuz of it and the younger brother gets out and shows his pistol. Then later on they football player get shot by the same kid. They do this to show how non-civilized the black community is.
