             Macbeth vs. Hamlet
            
             Macbeth is a Shakespearean tale about a confused Scottish noble that does not know how to utilize his ambition. He succumbs to temptation, which is partly supplied by his wife, and he kills in order to become king. Hamlet, in the same fashion, is another Shakespearean masterpiece that deals with the torn Prince of Denmark that has to deal with avenging his father's murder. Hamlet and Macbeth are similar in many ways, and reveal many sides of the human heart through their dynamic and dramatic plots.
             Both of these works deal with the great inner conflict of the main character. Macbeth cannot decide whether or not to kill Duncan, the King of Scotland. He sees an imaginary dagger floating in front of him that is a figment of his imagination, portraying how much he is lamenting over his act of cold-blooded murder. He finally commits the murder and claims Scotland's throne. The main conflict in Hamlet, signified by his "To be, or not to be..." speech, is how to deal with a great amount of deceit. Furthermore, in Macbeth, the witches explain to him that no one born of a woman will be able to kill him. It turns out that Macduff, his killer, was born through a Cesarean section. Of all the things that the witches tell Macbeth, all are true, but all are told in confusing and misleading riddles. Macbeth is tricked by the witches into believing that his bloodline will rule Scotland forever. Likewise, King Claudius tricks Hamlet into going to England where he will be killed fo!
             r knowing too much about the King's murdering of Hamlet's father. Hamlet is clever enough to escape this trap and return to Denmark, but he is foiled once again at the end of the play. During a duel with his enemy, Laertes, Hamlet is stabbed by a poison sword as part of a plan that was conspired by the King and Laertes, both, to kill Hamlet.
