             The manner and behavior through which Petruchio "wins" Katherine may be mildly judged as obnoxious and intense. Petruchio takes courtship and marriage to an entirely brutal level. After receiving resistance to sugary sweet attempts, the rascal turns to physical coercion and fearful intimidation in asserting his superiority. In Kate's final pep talk, the conclusion remains apparent that starvation, sleep deprivation, verbal threats of violence, and relentless savagery maintain productive dating methods with the opposite sex (or whatever the preference maybe).
             Prior to Petruchio's initial courtship, Kate was renowned for her stiff tongue and hostile disposition. Katherine is more than capable of warding of all possible suitors as well as Bianca and their father, Baptista. She is secure under her father's umbrella of wealth and plenty comfortable with her living conditions (other than social). Provided with at least 3 meals a day of noble proportion/quality, in privacy exists Kate in full accommodation to sleep the day through in opulent luxury. With these stable and dependable necessities Katherine is accustomed to, her fighting spirit to defy and constitution to support it remain preserved. Enter Petruchio. . .
             Petruchio tries to pull a high viscosity and friction-less initiation by lying straight to Kate's face. "Hearing thy mildness praised in every town, thy virtues spoke of, and thy beauty sounded (Yet not so deeply as to thee belongs), myself am moved to woo thee for my wife (II, IV. 199-202)". He then decides to go ahead and set up the wedding arrangements with Baptista by speaking for Kate of her approval, meanwhile she is locked inside a room helpless. Then after the physical-visual discord at the wedding, master P (now exercising command over his property with a pulse) extends not a helping hand to his wife underneath her horse, extends a fist
