             Synnott, Presentation of Gender in Advertising
             He discovers that there is quite a difference in the way men and women are portrayed in advertisements found in the New York Times. He argues women are portrayed as sex objects, young and always beautiful. He also argues that advertisers should only displays ads in which people don't protest about. Synotts problem was the way women were advertised and that no changes were made.
             Kavanaugh argues advertising changes the meanings of the words, such as True, Merit, Spirit. He states we are slaves to the world of advertising. He says individuals do things to satisfy their particular needs and desires, but in reality others are manipulating them. He also argues that we consumers only buy products to win friends and gain self-assurance.
             Television – Early developers didn't understand the benefits of television. Just like radio developers didn't see the far-seeing future.
