sy to follow. The suspense of this novel's progressive plot keeps the reader wanting to read more. Golding's use of simple language makes it easy for the reader to follow. The story commences when a plane carrying a group of young English boys has crashed down on a jungle island thus setting the stage for the problems that arise on the island. One might say that the boy's behavior reflects their surroundings; they acted as if they were participating in the war. Soon after the plane crashes the boys try to organize and formulate a plan for rescue by electing Ralph as the chief. Ralph tries to organize the boys by implementing the social rules they are accustomed. Everyone has assigned tasks, jobs, and responsibilities.
