The system provides a competitive innovative wireless alternative to the existing and future copper infrastructures solutions like ADSL and modem cables. It can be used for voice services as well as for fast Internet access with the 'Always On' feature. It provides 12Mbit/sec burst rate for each base station radio unit, with cell-aggregated throughput of up to 72Mbit/sec. Cell coverage is up to 20 km. The system supports SNMP management system through standard and private MIBs and Radius for data billing system
At its pilot phase, the FWA network is based on a single cell covering Uyo, Eket, Ikot Ekpene, Ikot Abasi, and Oron Local Government Areas.
