Prejudice

As I walk down the aisle, the sales clerk glares at me with contemptible eyes, watching every move I make, unquestionably thinking if she turns her head for the slightest moment that I will slip everything of value into my bag. Prejudging people for their appearance is a common practice that humans perform. People are not only ridiculed for their colour, as many might contemplate, when thinking of "prejudice", but also for many other things. Some of them including your age and sex.
Ageism is also a prejudice problem in our society today. Though many people think that this is not a serious problem, everyday, people are being harassed for their age, whether they are "too old" or "too young". Or, that girl answers too many questions; maybe she's going to be one of those teachers' pets. In a state school, the prejudgment phase is why many students wear nice and well-mannered clothing to the first two weeks of class. They know the very real danger that other students might dismiss them as second-class citizens if they just wore comfortable clothing such as jeans and a T-shirt.
