The sizzling streams of sunlight were just beautifully glimmering down on the crisp green schoolyard. Such a wonderful day that was. Nothing could have ruined it. Little Billy decided to go to the corner store and buy himself some soul food. As Billy started walking over to the store, clouds flocked over the dazzling sun. Billy wondered if this sudden darkness was a sign of things to come. On the other side of the road were three white boys from Billy's school. Upon recognizing little Billy, the boys ran across the street to him. "Hey Negro!" one of the white boys said. "Did your mamma pack you enough to eat today?" another hooted. "Just leave me alone," Little Jimmy said. "Oh no! Jimmy's really getting angry! Watch out!" teased the first boy. "Just leave me alone!" Jimmy answered. Everyday, everywhere, and all the time, people suffer discrimination simply because of minor differences amongst each other. Different beliefs; different cultures; different skin color; all of which act as building blocks to construct what we know as discrimination and racism.
             Racism is possibly the most damaging yet least obvious sacred cow in existence today. This is where the problem lies. It seems as if it only occurs because people refuse to let go of the idea that everyone is different and that being different is looked down upon. Every human is created from two small cells. Every human bleeds red. Every human requires nourishment. Essentially, all people on the earth are identical. Logically, to most civilized people, racism is completely irrational. How can one victimize people for the color of their skin? In today's popular society, people realize that the color of someone's skin is not something one can choose, and not something that makes anyone different in any way besides the outside coating.
