How would you feel when you are thousands of miles away from home in a foreign land as a guest. You have been living there for a while now and things look very good. But then suddenly a true sad event takes place for which you are not at all accountable, but the ignorant people think you are.
While shopping at a local K-mart in the United States a Muslim women was confronted by a local who came up to her shouting and asked her to leave the country at once also asked her not to wear the veil, which mind you, she does because of her own
belief. To top it all of this incident happens in front of the women's three young sons.
The knowledge I hold of Islam is very limited, but I think I am able enough to speak and write about some of the major misconceptions about Islam in the western world. My reasoning and comments might not be exactly by the books, but still I think
they are able to satisfy any rational person, who listens to my arguments as a human being instead of being just a Christian, Jew, Hindu etc.
I would be shedding some light on the status of women in a current Islamic society. We will start out with how Muslim women are stereotyped in today's modern societies as the oppressed ones and how every one seems to have the common idea that
women in developed countries are the most liberal. Then we shall take a look at the rights of women as described by Islam and how these laws actually liberate women instead of oppressing them.
Are we really sure that the rights of women we have been fighting for such a long while are really the ones we should have fought for. Lets take a look at what comes foremost in the list of priorities for a women, any women. Security, to insure that a women is not harassed when she goes out alone. Independence, so that a women can do
