Mellamo and Maileena

             At the beginning of time, little life existed in the vast universe. No planets existed, only a man, a moon, a sun, and many of his cherished stars inhabited space. The man was named Mellamo. Mellamo was content living on the moon and polishing each star. Yet, there seemed to be a void in his life. Out of loneliness, Mellamo would often talk to the stars and sing to the sun. There was never any recognition of his presence and he had nobody to enjoy with whom to enjoy the stars.
             Time passed as Mellamo's sorrow grew. It was while he was polishing his favorite star that he conceived his plan. Mellamo decided he would make a being similar to him and that being would be made inside a cluster of his favorite things, stars. While he gathered the most beautiful stars in the universe, Mellamo proclaimed, "I will make a companion and together we will sing our melodies to the sun and enjoy the stars. The being will listen to my tales as we both clean one star". Such high hopes began to form in Mellamo's heart and when he saw that he had accumulated enough stars to make his friend, he smiled. Grinning, Mellamo compressed the many stars into a sphere and bowed his head. Mellamo concentrated all his hopes and wishes into the sparkling ball. Mellamo continued this process, though no results appeared to occur.
             Mellamo began to grow weary of waiting for his companion to form inside the sphere. Exhausted of waiting, Mellamo focused the last of his hopes and began to sob. He whispered to the empty ball, "I am tired and I can no longer sit and wait for you". Mellamo's sobs was quickly followed by one swift kick to the bottom of the sphere. Consumed with disappointment, his hateful words became louder. Phrases such as "I am sorry I attempted to make you" and "I will be alone forever" was said to the sphere which, in turn, was beginning to fall apart with eac
