Well guess what, you could have used that money to buy a hungry family's meal in a poor country, and you have just contributed to the food distribution problem. If every single person were to give a portion of their food that they do not need, there will be more than enough to feed every living human being on Earth.
             In places like Africa they have to think about quantity when preparing their food. A lot of them don't even have enough food to prepare a full course meal; it wouldn't even be enough food to be considered a snack to us westerners. They have a few grains rice or wheat or what ever is readily available to them. They can't pick and choose, they can't say, "I like this, I hate that", especially when food is scarce. Think about how could a person live like this compared to how you are living now, and you thought you had it bad. The average individual diet of a person living in a poor country is about seven pounds of food per week compared to the seventeen pounds per week of food for a person living in a core country.
             Africa is not the only victim of unequal food distribution. Countries all over the world are experiencing food distribution problems. Africa is just the one that has the most sever food and hunger problem. "Of the 27 countries with food-security problems, 22 are in Africa..."(Stutz et al, 115).
