The difference between opinion and truth is that opinions are personal truths, while truths are an undisputed fact. Common misconception about undisputed truths and personal truths lead, to the confusion between opinion and truth. The confusion is caused by the closeness of relation the words hold, and not so much by the differences between the two.
             Truths are what is set in stone. When someone tells you that the President of the United States of America is George W. Bush, it is the truth. It is an undisputable fact. People cannot speculate on that. Different from this, a person's own opinion can constitute a different type of truth. A person's own individual truth, can be anything from religion to candy preference. While the truth may be that one person may think that Sour Patch Kids are the best candy, it cannot be ruled out that another type of candy can be equally as good to the next person. People's opinions are their own person truths. That said, it is understood that the truth can be different from person to person in some cases. This is where the similarity between truths and opinions can be seen.
             The difference between opinion and truth is not so much a difference but a misinterpretation of strong character similarities. While a truth is something everyone holds to have happened, an opinion has a far range of individual truths that can be covered with in it.
