Many times in society people who are well known throught the county tend to start things called "Fads". All to often people come up with the most outrageous combinations. Mabey as I get older, I am becoming more concervative in my style or the military has taken the up to date fashions away from me. It is kind of hard to understand why people had such problems with the flapper in the 1920's. I guess it is the same reason why painted on bathing suits are not so popular with our concervative society. To use the bathing suits as an example would be doing this paper an injustice, after all, I am going to explore the less exposing type of fashion.
             Over the Christmas break I could not help but notice the type of clothes that high school students were wearing. I started thinking back to the days of high school for me to see if anything had changed. The answer was no, I constantly see " punk rockers" who are determined to wear all black. They even go to the extreme of dying their hair all black. I don't think they are setting a fashion, they just tend to describe their personality. Along with the all black color, the "skater pants" which are cargo pants that flare out at the bottom, are a definite characteristic of this type of fashion. These pants are so big at the bottom I could fit my whole body through the bottom of the pant with room to spare. Most of the kids what wear these pants are skinny. Ask yourself, why do they need all that room as if they are going to fill it all up. Personally I think it is a waste of materal and money, which brings me to my next point about this fashion. To go with the extremely baggy pants, we usually have the 4 or 5 size too large for me flannel shirt, or some Megadeath T-shirt that looks like it was shot with a machine gun.
