Indian Movies; Are They Bad

Indians. Indians seem to be the bad guy while the cowboys were always
             looked upon as the good guy. They usually were the ones that attacked and raided the
             cowboys, which made it seem as though the Indians were icons of a violent, hateful
             nature. It was as though the white man (cowboys) were always better than the Indians.
             Some of the more popular movies were John Wayne movies. One of John Wayne's
             movies was The Searchers, which like many western movies, had a mythical portrayal of
             Indians. The Indians appeared once in awhile while being "entirely projections of white
             fantasy," as Tag Gallagher from John Ford's Indian put it (3). The films plot is about two
             white men, Ethan and Martin and their seven-year search for Ethan's niece, who was taken
             captive by Indians after the massacre of her family by the same Indians. These type of raids
