In my life I have been asked the question, "Do I believe in God?" many times. At different times in my life I would have answered the question differently. When I was younger I would immediately say, "yes" without even really knowing why. The last couple of years I would always say, "no" and I thought I knew why. Today it's a different story. I have been studying the Christian religion for many years now. I feel that the religion has great morals. It teaches us to unify, and to love one another, and to keep peace with in the community. These are the morals I base my life on. However, some parts of the religion seem far-fetched. The idea of a specific God who created the world, and sends messages to people through events that take place on the earth, seems sketchy. I am not saying it is not a possibility, but to believe in this God without any actual evidence isn't easy.
One thing that has drawn me to feel this way is the responsibility that is planted on God for the events that take place on this earth. I feel there are too many contradictions when speaking of God, or too many theories on what God is responsible for.
I do believe in some greater power. However, I am not in a position to say what this greater power's purpose is. For all I know human existence could be an experiment of this greater power, or even something to keep the greater power entertained. People can only make assumptions. We really cannot say things on this earth are proof that there is a God, the idea is just too monstrous and light years away from our lev
