Now children watch an average of three to four hours of television daily. Television can be a powerful influence in developing value systems and shaping their behavior. Unfortunately, there are a lot of today's televisions programs are violent and sex. Hundreds of studies of the effects of television violence on children and teenagers have found that children may become starting to accept violence and using the violence solve problems. Also imitate the violence, which they could see on television. That is why the government should definitely come in and control what on television.
             The child is more likely to behave violent because of the television. They can learn it as it is played repeatedly on TV, that they can get what they want by reacting with violence. When they see a character shot or beat someone up so they can steal the car. They may catch on this idea and they will expect this and try to do in the real world. A child may also see a bad guy on TV and try to be like him by doing what he does. In America, a nine-year-old boy was caught because he was putting rat poison on a box of candy that he was going to give to his teacher. It was because of the bad grades he received from his teacher on his report card. He responded by saying he got the idea form a TV show he watched the night before. This examples shows that how television violence can affect a child, and our society.
             Therefore, the government should make the television stations organize their programs so that the educational shows are on when children get home from school so that the children will be able to learn while enjoying themselves at home. Also they should divide all the television shows to different kind of level like the movie system. Then the parents can have better understanding about what their children are watching on TV and protect their children from the bad television program.
