Looking for places and ways to find financial aid has been one of people's worst experiences. Most people don't know the first place to begin looking for financial aid nor the people who can help you receive it. There is so much money out there to receive, but no one knows the proper way to go about obtaining it. There are so many resources that you can use to get financial aid. I am writing this financial aid guide to help other people find aid to successfully make it through college, grad school, or anything else. In this guide, it will explain how to and where financial aid is available.
             The first opinion a person has is to use the local school guidance counselor. Your guidance counselor receives plenty of scholarships and grants from the state and the government.
             They also receive scholarships from local organizations around your community. Also, school guidance counselors have all the scholarships from the school that you are eligible to apply for. Normally, these scholarships require you to write an essay on a particular topic and you have to include your background information and why you want the scholarship. Guidance counselors can also assist you in how to write the essay, where to look for more scholarships, and the amount of time you have before the deadlines.
             Next, you should fill out the FAFSA. The FAFSA is a form that determines your eligibility to receive financial aid from the government. With the FAFSA, your family cannot make over a certain amount of money or you will not receive financial assistance from the government. Once you fill the FAFSA out, they will send you a financial aid report called the SAR report and it will tell you what you will receive. On your personal list they will have scholarships and/ or loans. The FAFSA will then send your report to the school you will attend.
