While Americans made the mistake of sending the Chinese goods that they did not use, the Chinese, for the most part, avoided that mistake by using some common sense.
             Since Americans were ignorant to the needs of the Chinese, many products that were exported from the U.S. remained on Chinese shelves. It was quite foolish to send dietary supplements that require milk to a country that doesn't use dairy products and are lactose intolerant. Chinese people don't have the same discretionary funds that most American's do. They can't afford to spend the extra 60-cents on a Coke and therefore this is not a wise export for Americans to send them. Knowing that the Chinese can't afford a simple soft drink Americans should do a little more research before sending them more useless goods.
             Unlike America, China did a little more research on the needs and wants of American citizens and capitalized by this. The only export that didn't seem to be a big hit in the states was the canned moose snout, aside from that everything else seemed to find a comfortable spot in American homes. China took the cotton and polyester that the U.S. sent them, turned the materials into clothing and shipped them right back to the U.S. for a decent profit. The Chinese offered cheap labor to Americans, a resource that all American companies are constantly looking for and need. They also capitalized on our Independence Day by manufacturing fireworks and selling them to us.
             In an effort to pull in American dollars and gain a better grasp on what the U.S. wanted, China decided to bring its first trade show to San Francisco.
