Immigration in America

             According to the United States Census Bureau the population of our country gains a new American every 11 seconds, and 2.5 million a year. Of that total, more than a million were born somewhere else. That is not a small amount of immigrant. This large number of immigrant causes many different emotions. For some Americans, immigration is an adversity. Many Americans in the past and present have reacted to immigrant with fear: fear of unemployment and lower standards of living, fear of different religions and races, fear that immigration is spoiling the country for those already here. The issue of immigration in America has the following topics: the understanding of the history behind immigration, the effect immigration has on the United States, and the economic issues associated with immigration today. Should the United States take more on immigrant?
             I am interested in this issue because I am an emigrant myself. History of America is the history of immigrations. Immigrants have helped our nation where has the strongest capability in economy as well as in military all over the world. That is why our country name is "the United States." The country name itself already tells how the America was established more than two hundred years ago. The United States is made up by thousands of emigrate and their generations. Nowadays, there are thousands of different last names in the phone books in our country.
             I know that emigration is the greatest thing that the United States has given to every single immigrant who has come here. This country has a lot opportunities for people who want to have a better life. Not only to have a better life when we are here but we also have the freedom. Freedom of speech is one of the most significant human rights. That is the most important thing why people have chosen America to be the land to live.
