             Language is a primary from of communication; it is also our most sophisticated. Our spoken language, made up of sounds connected in a set order, allows us to express our feelings and emotions clearer than any other channel of communication as well as giving clues as to how feel within a specific situation and the status of the people we are with.
             As speech is one of our most primary forms of communication it is a very useful tool, which we are able to adapt to the environment around us. This allows us to manipulate our language to create an image that we want others to see of ourselves, by doing this we are able to make certain aspects of our personality, or even traits that are not normally associated with us more prominent. This would depend on the tone in which we speak, our vocabulary, register, dialect and the non-verbal signs we use to back up this information.

             This model shows how certain aspect of how we interact can affect how people view us. The idea of making certain qualities more prominent can be seen in how we present ourselves to different people. Take for example a man at a job interview; he would go into the interview wanting to show the employer that you are hard working, responsible and reliable. The way he speaks will try to enforce these messages. He also may speak using different vocabulary to seem more intelligent and show respect.
