A character in a position of power might do anything
to maintain that power. Sometimes people make change to
maintain their power. Sometimes they change the laws or
resort to violence. This can be seen in George Orwell's
novel Animal Farm. Napoleon, the mean, power hungry
leader uses violence and propaganda. He uses violence as a
protection to keep his leadership. The propaganda that
Napoleon uses is mostly to cause violence.
Violence. One of the ways Napoleon stays on
leadership. Napoleon used violence through dogs that he
brain washed and he used war against the humans to keep
his power on top. Napoleon used the dogs like humans use
guns. He brain washed puppies to believe that he was the
best and he was unstoppable. He was a corrupt pig who did
things the other animals didn't know about and he used the
dogs to protect him while this was going on. The violence
that napoleon used in the middle of the novel, comes back
Propaganda is used in many ways in the novel Animal
Farm. Propaganda is used by napoleon's companion
Squealer. Squealer brain washes everyone young and old
that napoleon is always right and our fearless leader. When
ever something happens its never napoleons fault because
sqealer gets him out of it by using propaganda. Squealer
and Napoleon changed laws around when they found out
living like humans was better than living like animals. Both
of them told all of the animals that they just read the laws
wrong in the first place and they were always like that but
Violence and Propaganda are the to main things in this
novel that help someone maintain their power. The way
Napoleon used violence and propaganda was mapped out.
