What Every Athlete Dreams, of But Few Achieve

             You know that feeling when you walk on to the field for the first game of the season, you know the stadium is packed but you can't hear anything. Your heart is beating fast, because you know this game is going to be intense, and everyone is watching you. This is when everyone really sees what you have been working on during preseason. They are waiting to see what kind of season they can expect, and how much you have improved to bring this team to victory. Everything that you have been working on up to this point in your life effects your game, and all you can do now is hope that you did the right things, and improved in the right area to be labeled a great athlete.
             There are specific traits athletes must possess to reach a high degree of success in their respective sports. It doesn't matter what sport, from football to baseball to tennis and golf, these traits are universal and required. The better these traits are functioning, the better the athlete will perform, bottom line. I interviewed a friend of mine, Tyler Paul. Tyler Paul has been playing football for over ten years, and now plays for Emporia State University. Tyler explained to me what it takes to be great and he said, "It takes a lot of work and dedication to excel in a sport." Tyler has played four years at Emporia State, and he was recently named a regional winner of the NCAA Division II Commissioners Association Scholar-Athlete of the year.
             Physical aspect of sports is one of the major attributes that makes you a better athlete. "The physical aspect of sports is the key to how you perform" says Tyler. According to my high school sports guide, "physical performance is defined as the tasks which you must perform 'with your body' to compete in your respective sport."
