The communication process between people is affected by many different situations in daily life. We plan on investigating the communication process between a leader in a group and the group members. Attribution theory relates to this topic because often times people in a group stereotype each other because of many differences, such as culture, age and gender. Often times, groups work less efficiently because of these issues.
This topic is worthy of discussion because we live in a city where the culture diversity is strong. Group leaders are often members of different cultures and beliefs. When leaders are able to overcome these differences, there is an improvement in the efficiency and group progression. When a good relationship is maintained, leaders and group members are confident and comfortable in their work environment. Good relationships between leaders and group members can eventually lead to successful personal relationships. These relationships are important when there is a need for favors and in emergency situations.
Discussing the problems and issues that leaders face when dealing with a diverse group is important because this situation occurs in our day-to-day lives often. Once we begin to discuss and understand the attribution theory we will also begin to move towards overcoming the challenges and barriers that lies in this problem.
