The two possibilities were one black one white teacher. The black teacher was the only minority in the business department; the school decided to fire the white teacher-an act of discrimination on the basis of color.              Opponents of affirmative action also argue that blacks that get the jobs do not get them on their own merit but obtain them because of the color of their skin. Some employers have to resort to hiring under-qualified applicants over qualified applicants in order to satisfy an affirmative action program.
