After the September 11, many questions regarding religion have been raised all over the world. Today every individual in America is wondering " Is religion really necessary". "Aren't we more safe without it?" Americans have experienced this question for the first time in history, however that is not the case with most of the other countries.
             The place from where I come i.e., India has always been targeted with invasions by different religion. India was once a land of gold and knowledge. Aryans, nomadic tribes from North were the first ones to come to this land. They along with the already existing Dravidians thought that food, water and shelter should not be the main goal of life. They felt that human life was much more precious and that it should be utilized in a better way. So after a lot of thinking and discussions they came up with a ideal way of living and called that way of life Hinduism. Group of people who had proper knowledge about Hinduism went from place to place and tried to spread this concept. Thus, through religion, the people of India got the concept of better life. This concept brought discipline amongst people and thus helped them develop and improve in all fields. Everybody appreciated the concept of religion until one day the Muslims invaded. They would loot, burn houses and even kill those Hindus who refused to convert themselves to Muslim religion. While these Hindu- Muslim fights were going on, the Britishers came and captured the whole of India. They brought along with them churches, fathers and nuns and that was how Indians introduced to the concept of Christianity. The churches started giving away food, clothes and money to the needy that converted themselves to Christianity. It was during this time when the concept of Jainism and Buddhism also originated and started spreading all throughout the country.
