Many tales assist children to learn about what is significant in their lives. Among those tales, "The Beauty and the Beast" is my favorite tale for it possesses two important messages. It encourages children not to predetermine others only by ostensible appear.
The message of this tale is about having bias against what is solely apparent. The "beast" in this tale is cursed to a gigantic unattractive beast to scare to scare others. This magic can be resolved only if any person truly love him. Everyone who encounters with this beast frightens and shuns him. Julia, however, finds out difference in inside of the beast and falls in love with him. One day, when a decisive man kills the beast. Julia weeps out loud and laments for his death. This love toward him resolves the curse; the handsome prince exposes. This tale tells children to not to have bias only from the looking, for the inside of them may be different. This mistake has occurred many times. The American history is a good example. Long time ago, white people shunned African Americans and treated them inhumanely only because they had black skin color; white people regarded that people with black skin color are unintelligent, thus unnecessary in the society. However, many political, military leaders are African Americans; white people were mistaken. Thus, people should not prejudge others only because of their appears.
This tale gives more messages to children, and this is a central of those messages. Because "The Beauty and the Beast" teaches children about negatives of prejudging from apparent, this tale is my favorite.
