             Tim McGraw's style is characterized as Country-pop. "Set This Circus Down" seems to contain a variety of styles played by his band, The Dancehall Doctors. The band instruments include the acoustic guitar, percussion, bass, keyboard, lead guitar, electric steel guitar, drums, banjo and a fiddle. On this album and previous, McGraw and his band unite pop-rock production with traditional country conventions. Songs, such as Cowboy In Me, You Get Used To Somebody, Forget About Us, Angry All The Time, Grown Men Don't Cry and Why We Said Good Bye, tend to stay with the more traditional sound. The words are sentimental and synonymous with the traditional country ballads accompanied by soft guitar strums. These songs are sung with more of a country twang than the others but smooth and soft. The themes of these songs have a propensity to stay with the traditional country themes. Cowboy In Me talks about that ever so popular cowboy image. He sings, "The urge to run the restlessness. The heart of stone I sometimes get. The things I've done for foolish pride. The me that's never satisfied...I guess that's just the cowboy in me." The song is about a man that can't seem to stay with his girlfriend because of the urge he has inside to be a cowboy. You Get Used to Somebody is about love loss.
             "I never dreamed when I was letting go that I would wake up and miss you this much." In Forget About Us, McGraw sings "I'm gonna think again about the way it was I'm gonna close my eyes and forget about us." and in Angry All The Time, "I'm not old but I'm getting a whole lot older everyday. ...
