Keeper 'N Me contrasting Trapped in Another Life

Garnet and Pamela are both trapped in another life. They are both trapped because they aren't living the life of their own. In one case, Garnet was taken from his home and was put in foster homes. Garnet was taken at the age of three and ultimately drifting up to end in jail. Although he was an Indian, and he lived on the Indian Reservation for the first three years of his life, he didn't know what kind Indian he was. This is similar to Pamela. She also didn't know what kind of person she was, or was becoming.
Pamela was living a troubled life. She first got arrested for drug charges, and was sent to jail. Next she met a trucker and fell in love for him. In a way, Pamela and Garnet are similar but at the same time they are dissimilar. Garnet becomes aided in his rough journey to find out who he is, by his keeper, a recovering alcoholic who becomes Garnet's mentor, healing himself in the process. Pamela thinks to herself that she has the worst life. This is kind of like Garnet's life except he doesn't think that he has the worst life. But Pamela, resenting everything, decided to get married at a young age; whereas Garnet travels a while, not knowing who he is, but trying to find out.
In a few instances, Garnet felt nervous and quite embarrassed every time he had to explain his story of where he came from. Also, Garnet says that he is Hawaiian, Polynesian, Mexican, and of the black race. I feel that both Garnet and Pamela lived in very different lives. Pamela's highlights of her life were getting arrested. Raven only got arrested once. Also Raven was institutionalized. Meaning that at first he was unsure, and unhappy about living with the many families, especially the black family. Next he lived with them for a while and got used to them. And finally when he left the black family, he didn't know what to do, Garnet was mostly confused.
