In this unit, we explored probability. The unit was about a team who's record was 96-57 and another team named the bad guys who's record was 93-62. They are the top two teams in the league and each one wants to win the pennant. The each have 7 games left in their seasons and our mission was to find the probability that the good guys would win the pennant.
             One of the main mathematical ideas in this unit is probability. The whole unit is based around this. After the introduction into this unit, we explored a lot on what nPr & nCr were and what they did and what kind of problems they are good for. The knowledge of this helped us to find different possible outcomes and finding the ratio of that outcome to happen. Them we learned a little about Pascal's triangle and how it worked with nCr. Finally, the unit taught us about binomials and probabilities. It helped us understand binomial distribution and how it worked in generalizing the work we did throughout the unit on the probabilities of the pennant.
             I feel the mathematical idea that I feel most confident in is permutations and Combinations (nCr & nPr). I feel like I really connected with the concept and I feel that I can use these in any problem that needs it.
             Probably the idea that I feel least confident about is Binomial distribution. We didn't work a lot on that very important concept so I feel that I need some more practice with it. So that's what I had trouble with on that subject.
             Well let's see, throughout year 3 of IMP I've defiantly expanded the mathematical concepts I already had as well as gained some new ones. As we gained more knowledge on some concepts, it wasn't as fun as learning all new concepts and figuring them out. There is so much stuff that was taught that I'm not going to give you a list or anything, just say that the ideas were learned in here and that Some of it was actually fun.
