             After the cold war era many thought that America would be in charge of the twenty first century. This ideal of "the new frontier"(646) was in line with the development of a global information economy. The analysts, however, have to take into account whether this was an actual leap forward for capitalism or was the U.S. just getting by when the rest of the world's superpowers were in a great struggle? When an American looks at how freedom is incorporated in how Americans live, is it fair to say an American needs these materialistic items? If we spend all the money we earn, and then some, we will end up in a debt that cannot be reversed.
             Militarism was America's forte. Military spending was on a low when we realized that other countries, such as Japan, Russia and Germany, recovered from post war trauma. The fight for the fastest weapon and the nuke that could destroy a whole country was an idea called "unconventional weaponry"(646).
