Loch Ness: The Evidence

science is extremely advanced, this view refuses to accept the idea that there are any undiscovered creatures left in the world (2). This is an extremely limited attitude which can really be a barrier to scientific discovery. If science knows everything, and has discovered all things on earth, there is very little motivation for continued exploration of our planet. Without such exploration and the motivation to uncover the mysteries that surround us, scientific discovery can suffer.
Cryptozoology is not based on "misinterpretation of facts" but on actual scientific evidence. Consequently, while some scientist attack this field of study, many more support it, having been convinced by the evidence provided by cryptozoologists for the existence of many undiscovered species of animals. As it is argued in an article entitled "Other Cryptic Creatures," cryptozoology is both factual and scientific but the inability of some scientists to recognize this is due to the fact that it studies creatures that are rarely seen by humans. The point, however, is that such creatures are occasionally seen, and eventually discovered and captured due to the efforts of cryptozoologists (1). Examples of such creatures, which were studied and discovered only recently by cryptozoology are the sharp-nosed snake, the Du Quang ox, and a gigantic type of deer known as the muntjac (1). Some of these creatures are ordinary such as the mountain gorilla (See Appendix) which was not discovered until 1902, or extraordinary like the coelacanth (See Appendix), a prehistoric fish which was captured in 1938 (Holden 2). In all cases, whether cryptozoologists are searching for creatures that are ordinary but unknown, or extraordinary and believed by scientists to have been extinct for millions of years, zoologists refuse to accept the claims of cryptozoologists. This is a very rigid attitude on the part of zoologists, especially in consideration ...
