             Imagine that you are a 10-year-old child working for a huge corporation, something that you never dreamt at an early stage of your life. This is harsh reality that young children endure for merely cents a day in developing countries. Big corporations setting up shops in undeveloped and developing countries have become a part of everyday life. The sad part of this situation is that these young children and teenagers are treated cruelly and worked long hours. In the western world, the word "sweatshop" is associated with unsettling images of child labour, low wages, violation of the basic human rights and poor working conditions. For example, "Judith Viera is an 18 year old who worked at a maquiladora plaint in El Salvador that made clothing for the Gap and other companies. She was paid a pathetic 56 cents an hour. If she wanted to use the bathroom, she had to go through the humiliation of asking a supervisor for a ticket. Anyone who stayed in the bathroom too long was punished by being sent outside to sweep the grounds in the hot sun." The corporations make huge profits over the merchandise the produce in developing countries. In contrast, little or no credit is given to these hardworking individuals, who work ridiculously long hours to make what the western world wears affordable. Therefore, rather than benefiting local economies, sweatshops hinder the economies of developing nations.
             Sweatshops hinder the economies of the developing nations in many ways that are gone unnoticed because it's the western world doing it to the developing nations so it wouldn't concern the corporations. They are in the business for making maximum amounts of profits and having to pay 50 cents a day compared to 50 dollars a day for someone working in their own homeland.
