For centuries mothers have labeled as the caretakers. Even in the olden days, mother stayed at home. They cooked, cleaned, and took care of their children. On the other hand, the role of the father was to provide for his family, and keep order in the household. Although it's a new day and age, you find many of the same roles being played in today's homes.
             Mothers being the caretakers, while fathers do the providing are of course, only the broader perspectives of this topic. Moms and dads are so completely different, yet share so much of the same ground, that it is almost frightening. They find ways to bond with their children in two completely opposite ways.
             Perhaps you can recall trying to go to sleep, but not feeling good when you were younger. And who did you go wake up? Why mom of course. "Mommy, my tummy hurts," does this sound familiar? She woke up, carried you back into bed, and rubbed your tummy until you fell asleep, just as you knew she would. As a child, you can sense this about mom. Mom will always let you sleep in her bed when you have nightmares, don't feel good, or just want to be with her. Moms are just that way. It's in their nature to do whatever it takes to make sure their babies are secure and taken care of. They are soft, gentle, kindhearted and understanding, but most of all, they are the light at the end of every dark tunnel we come to in our lives. The ones we go to when we feel like we have lost all hope, and need reassuring. The one who always has an answer, lifts our spirits, and lets us know that everything will be okay.
             Dad on the other hand, plays a role just as wonderful, but in a different way. Dad was more than likely the one who taught you to ride a bike, shoot hoops, play catch, operate a computer, and drive a car; all the good stuff.
