omputers to screens was dismissed in the 1950s, in the 60s people began to realize that this concept would be important to a more user-friendly machine and make it easier to solve problems (Virtual Reality: History). This concept was realized through better, more advanced transistor based computers that were also being linked to the improving communications technology. The foundation for virtual reality was becoming more and more developed as graphics and displays started to emerge in the public eye. With the help of the US Government¡s need for better RADAR systems and displays, the graphical universe of the computing technology got a booster (Virtual Reality: History). Also, the government wanted to improve the safety and training methods for airplane pilots especially. So simulations were created using primitive graphics and a mock cockpit that the trainee would use. This marked the start of virtual reality¡s use in everyday events (Virtual Reality: History).
Virtual reality grew and expanded as the computers that generated the simulations grew and expanded. Today, virtual reality plays a major role in everyday life especially for the entertainment business. The technology of today far surpasses the technology of even yester-year, let alone the late 50s. In 1950, it was fiction to sit in front of your television and play video games (Lance Morrow). The idea hadn¡t even been introduced. Now, games are about as real as the chair or sofa that you sit in. Simulations reach new heights with every technological advance. Computers are doing things bigger, better, and faster than ever before and always being improved. And with all this improvement, the products that can be produced as a result become better, more complex and able to do much more (Lance Morrow).
Society today has accepted the role of VR the way that it has been presented: readily. Most people look forward to the newest thing to reach the market or t...
