From Underground: A Blind Man

The Underground Man is a man of consciousness for he thinks but never does. He is undefined for he has no and does not want any identity. He analyzes life from his own corner, he is a critic he watches but never does. No matter what he may know he would never interfere in the life process. He hides away. To describe myself best, all my action in my short life I would have to be categorized as a Man of Action for I do not analyze the situation thoroughly before continuing on with my actions.
A Man of Action is a man who does without thinking, a man who does without seeing all the possibilities, and analyzing all the outcomes of his actions. A man of consciousness is a man who sees every angle from a glass prison because even though he sees endless outcomes and solutions to any of life's problems he cannot do anything about them, as ironic as it is true. The Underground Man believes that a Man of Consciousness has to be very intelligent he discusses this all through his story. A man of action can be more intelligent than a man of consciousness, the only difference is that he overlooks many possible solutions and decides on one that fits him best at that given time, a man of consciousness cannot since his thinking process prevents him from finding any one suitable solution to even the simplest problem such as "2X2=4". This is not intelligence; maybe the only reason that he cannot find the solution is because he isn't intelligent enough to do so. I would prefer to be a man of action, and I am. To endlessly search for a solution is madness, and disrupts the way a society functions. Accepting certain things is a part of life. Simple mathematical problems have simple solutions there is no reason to over think them, or decide otherwise. Sure some of life problems have to be throughout in order to be solved, but you must solve it for life within your own mind can not, and will not continue.
