In The Poison Tree, we can see multiple sides of human nature. There are juxtapositions of anger and fear with pretended happiness which point out this variety.
             In the first stanza the persona implies the danger of repressed feelings by asserting that his anger would grow in a surpassed way. What Blake does in these lines in a way a foreseeing of Freudian psychology by referring to subconscious.
             In the second one, there may be seen insincerity and contradictions of human nature. The persona uses fear to feed a more active feeling; anger. The following lines are also important in terms of justifying element of human nature. The persona in the third and fourth lines confesses that he uses lies and tricks to justify his anger.
             In the third and fourth stanzas, we come across with the raising desire of anger and revenge. The apples may be seen the indications of that desire which is emerged gradually and that is another revealing of human nature. In the next lines, human nature shows itself in the embodiment of the foe because he knows the anger of the persona but keeps on attacking him. That may imply the curious side of human nature. At the end of the poem the persona achieves his goal of revenge which is a dominant element of human nature.
