As children most of us were placed in a daycare service, some being better than others. No daycare can make up for the loving nourishment we receive from our parents, however most parents are not able to be with us twenty four hours a day, seven days a week as we progress through our childhood. Moreover, daycare providers can apply themselves more to make up for the nourishment that the children would be receiving from their parents. We all can use more tender loving care in out lives especially throughout out childhood.
             Throughout my childhood I was placed in several daycare centers because my parents worked long hours to support our family. In no way do I blame my parents for doing this, but I place some blame on the daycare providers for not living up to the full responsibility of their jobs. Daycare providers; especially self contracted houses which often have two adults for fifteen children can not provide enough love and attention for all of the children. There are also extreme cases in nurseries where children are treated very poorly, and even neglected.
             "Old enough for nursery school they said, and I did not know then what I know now – the fatigue of the long day, and the lacerations of group life in these kinds of nurseries that are only parking places for children" (p.644)
             Nurseries are often over crowded and not enough attention and love can be provided for every child. Parents however, have no choice but to place their children in daycare services if they have to work, as was the case in my childhood. Parents do have the choice of which service to place their children in, and should research all of the facilities available to them, because as I stated earlier there are daycare providers that are better than others.
