Let us look at what makes the IB Diploma Program unique.
             First it is a two-year curriculum that is design to allow its graduates to fulfill requirements of various national education systems. Not modeled on any single country educational system but to incorporate the best elements of several. The last two years in PIB was a chance to try on the accelerated academic program and see how it fits. This was a chance to build the foundation of time management, resource management and free-time management. Those of you sitting here tonight are made of the right stuff.
             What makes the The IB Diploma program special is that it is centered around three unique requirements
             The first is a class called TOK or Theory of Knowledge
             This class is an interdisciplinary course intended to stimulate critical reflection upon the knowledge and personal experiences gained inside and outside the classroom. TOK is designed to challenge you the candidate to question the bases of knowledge, to be aware of subjective and ideological biases, and to develop a personal mode of thought based on evidence expressed in rational argument.
             The second requirement of the IB is known as CAS. CAS stands for Creativity, Action, Service. This requirement takes seriously the importance of life experience. Participation in theater productions, different sport activities, band and various community service activities provides a refreshing counterbalance to the academic self-absorption some may feel within this demanding school program. These types of activities encourage the candidate to share their energies and special talents while developing awareness, concern and the ability to work cooperatively with others. The IB goal of educating the whole person and fostering a more compassionate citizenry is realized in an immediate way when students reach beyond themselves and books.
