As I roll out of bed one Saturday afternoon, I slowly crept my way to possibly the most gruesome and putrid bathroom on campus, located on the first floor of Luzerne Hall. When walking into the bathroom, my nose stung with the foul stench of urine and I could barely pick my feet up from the sticky, and sickening floor. I made a sharp right and followed the opening to the row of stalls on the right. I continued to the last stall up against the wall which I use every single morning at about this time. I open the door slowly, frightened by what I might see, and sure enough, right in front of me, was the absolutely most disgusting site of all. The brown stained, urine drenched toiled nearly made me fall backwards onto the dirt-covered floor. I turned to my left surely to find three empty toilet paper rolls on the holder. Glancing under the toiled paper holder, I caught a glimpse of crusty vomit stains from the night before. As I turned around to leave the stall immediately, you can't miss the permanent marker on the inside of the door. Squinting at the door, trying to make sense of the scratched out words, I found myself reading the statement, "Damn Commons!" While leaving the stall, I decided to at least wash my face over at the sink. Diagonal from the stall was the sink. I stood in front of the sink glaring at myself in the mirror thinking of how I live in such conditions as these. I reach my hand to the finger print covered chrome water knob. As I move my face down into the sink to drench myself with freezing cold water, no less than two inches from my face are facial hair left over from someone shaving earlier this morning that was not washed down the drain completely. I was quickly revolted by the things I saw, and left the bathroom with the absolute terror of returning again.
