            Crucible Essay
             There are many different types of Choices that we chose to make daily; there are good ones as well as well as bad ones. The problems lie after the choice we have made. John Procter was analyzed and faced an array of problems in the text The Crucible. His ability to over come adversity is what we can learn from him.
             What is integrity? Integrity is the state of being complete or undivided according to Webster's dictionary. Proctor has a lot of integrity throughout the story." ... But my name I cannot – because it is my name! Because I cannot have anther in my life! Because I lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; Leave me my name!"(Act 4). This shows johns integrity because john knows that his sins would cost him his life and wants everyone to know that his name represents what and who he is. Miller uses this scene to expose john true character and all that he has been through and done lies with in eleven letters, which spells his name John Proctor. " A fire, a fiere is burning! I hear the boot of Lucifer, I see his filthy face! And it is my face, and yours Danforth! For them that quail to bring men out of ignorance, as I have quailed, and as you quail now when you know in all your black hearts that this be fraud – God damns our kind especially, and we will burn, we will burn together! The also shows Johns integrity because he uses his gilt which he learned from to show others what they are doing is a sin and is wrong so change your ways or you will end up like him DEAD.
             Proctor has a lot of integrity but the basis of it came him suffering from gilt. Proctor suffers from guilt early in the story because of his sin with Abigail.
