             The "evil one" is Satan, from whom the faithful should beg frequently for deliverance, according to Matthew
             Satan is the ruler of this world, according to John 12:31, 14:30, and 16:11. According to Paul's followers, Satan rules not only the Earth, but the entire cosmos, and even infects Heaven itself:
             Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
             - Ephesians 6:11–12
             In the Bible, Satan is directly mentioned more than 200 times. Satan enters the realm of human activity in Genesis 3. In Job 1, he is an oppressor of good people. In Matthew 4, Satan tempts Jesus. His final incarceration and eternal confinement are described in Revelation 20.
             The names and various descriptions of Satan reveal his true character as follows:
             1. He is the enemy of all good and the accuser of God and man
             (Matt. 13:28; Rev. 12: 9-12; Ezek. 28: 11-17).
             6. The first sinner, the first rebel, and the first to consecrate himself to self gratification and to wage war against all society
             (Isa. 14 : 12-14; Ezek. 28 :11-17; Rev. 12:9; 20:7-10).
             7. He is cunning (2 Cor. 2:11; 11:14; Eph 6 :11-12).
             8. Wicked (Matt. 13:18, 28; John 8 :44; 1 John 3 :8; 5 :18).
             9. Malignant (Luke 8 :12; 2 Cor. 4 : 4; 1 Peter 5: 8-9).
