             Short Stories
             Often in short stories a younger character changes as the result of a older characters influence. Many short stories have conflicts and at the end they a resloved in theese three stories the conflict was solved by a caring adult. The stories read are Thank you mam, Treasure of Lemon Brown, The Medicine Bag. All of theese stories had a major conflict having to do with a troubled child. The adult in the story helped the child and the child grew from the expierience.
             The Medicine Bag was about a boy who was ashamed of his grandfather. He was ashamed of him because he was a dirty indian. He lied and told his friends that he was a tall, noble chief. One unexpected day his father walked from a long distance to see his family.His friends got a glimpse of his poor state and he was very ashamed and hurried him into the house.
             Little did he know his friends thought he was neat. His grandfather got very sick and gave him a small leather bag with sage and a stone and was passed down from generations. When his grandfather died he was to empty the sage at the reservation where his grandfather lived before and to fill it with a new piece. When he is to die he is to pass it on to his son. His grandfather helped him to realize that fmaily counts most and not to be ashamed of him. His grandfather was very smart and made him change with out actually telling him to him to.
             The Treasure of Lemon Brown was about a negroe that lived in a broken down house in the woods.A boy named ran away because his dad wouldnt let him play basketball because he did poor in school. He ran to the old house and the old man ( Lemon Brown) scarred him by asking him why are you here?! I have a razor! Him and Lemon Brown got to talking and it turned out he didnt have a razor. He explained to Leamon Brown why he ran away. He started to talk about his treasure..his harmonica. Two robbers over heard and ...
