Technology. Is it having the right effect on the world? I believe it is. Assets such as: The Internet, cellular phones, and Palm Pilots are great resources for organization and communication with others in society today.
             First, the Internet is a great tool that can be used for a vast range of purposes. The main purpose that I use the Internet for is research. Not only is it useful for writing essays for English 1117, it is also used by many within their careers, such as lawyers for research and within companies who are striving to one-up one another. One of the uses for the Internet at home is to find information on personal interests such as: online shopping, joining a club, or just about anything you can think of. The Internet can also be used for communication. Some of the ways you can use it for communication including e-mail, chat rooms and Instant Messenger programs. Instant Messenger programs allow you to talk one on one over the computer to a friend, or someone you just met off of a people finder.
             Next, cellular phones are also a wonderful asset that can be put to use in this new Millennium of technology. Cellular phones may one day take the place of regular land based (home) phones altogether. Cellular phones are nice to have in case of an emergency, or if you just want to talk and not pay long distance charges (most cellular phones include free long distance.) Cellular phones are also coming with more and more options like wireless Internet on the handset, an Internet connection from your laptop computer to your phone, as well as date books, games, text messaging, and e-mail. Some Cellular Phone Providers (CPP) are even integrating Cellular phones and Palm Pilots.
