Roids, Its all the Rage

             Going down a lonely highway, he's the only one on the road. He sees a sign that says "Get Ready," and it makes him scratch his head. As he keeps wondering what the sign means, he can feel his body getting hot. He's getting frustrated at nothing at all. He comes up to another sign that says, "It's Time." The blood is churning now, and there is no explanation. He pulls to the side of the road, his veins are pumping out. There is a cold sweat running down his forehead. Then it hits him. It can't be controlled. It can't even be contained. The rage has taken over him. Before he knows it, the steering wheel is bent into scrap metal from the fists that he can't control. He is whimpering by the vehicle, not knowing what he has done. The car is in shambles. The entire interior is torn up. He calms down and realizes what he has done. The roids have taken over. Is that what an athlete wants? He wants all the strength in the world, but he has no way of controlling it.
             This is an example of what steroids can do to someone who uses them. Steroids are the best known performance enhancing drugs on the market. There are many supplements that are out there that can be used for instant results. Androstene is another drug that was on the market about five years ago. It was made popular by Mark McGuire, who owned the single season homerun record of 70 until Barry Bonds broke that record in 2002 with 72. There are many steroids or supplements that are available for athletes in middle school and athletes as advanced as the professional ranks. That's why all performance enhancing drugs should be banned from athletics ranging from middle school through college, and even in professional sports.
