Back in grade school, while learning about evolution I was taught that when people cannot explain nature's occurrences they called upon God or, in contrast the devil. Did media become a demonic figure in which we so blindly came to believe in? I am an extremely superstitious individual; nevertheless I refuse to accept the idea suggesting that art is harmful.

After the Littleton shootings, many points of view accusing warped entertainment, have been stressed tremendously, many of which seem to be sense making opinions. It is a fact that children today use technology as form of "fun" more often then ever before. "Kids now spend an average of four and a half hours a day at home in front of some sort of screen, according to a 2000 study of more than 1,200 families by the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania". "The amount of time children spend ingesting media is the second-greatest amount of time they spend doing anything during childhood, besides sleep," said Dr. Don Shifrin, a University of Washington clinical professor of pediatrics and member of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Committee on Public Education. "It's the equivalent of a child being in front of a screen 24 hours a day, every day, for 10 full weeks each year". Many of the pictures that come across young people's eyes through today's entertainment sources include graphic violence and sexually explicit images. So, did the movies really made them do it?
