Ted Bundy

the Cowells. At the tender age of three, Ted was discovered by his 15 year-old aunt lifting up her blankets and slipping butcher knives into the bed beside her. She recalled him just standing there grinning as she shooed him out of the room to remove the sharp objects and replace them back into the kitchen. A year later his mother decided to make a fresh start in life and moved to Tacoma, Washington where she met John Bundy, an easygoing, mild man who just left the navy. They were soon married and started a family that produced Ted with new half-brothers and sisters. Ted showed no resentment towards his stepfather or his half-siblings.
During Bundy's late teens he became engaged with Stephanie Brooks, a young lady he had met in high school and became greatly infatuated with. To impress his fiancé and her family, Ted enrolled to Stanford University to study Chinese. Ted began to become lonely, and getting poor grades. He stated, "I found myself thinking of standards of success that I didn't seem to be living up to." While he was conservative of his thinking, Stephanie noticed his shyness and immaturity in their relationship and broke off the engagement. Shattered and deeply resentful, his brother, Glenn, saw Ted in a way he had never seen him before. "Stephanie screwed him up..." commented his half-brother Glenn. Seven years later, Stephanie met a new, high-powered Ted; which she became deeply impressed with. They soon talked about marriage again, and spent the Christmas of 1973 together. Ted would get his sweet revenge by 'dumping' her the same way she had dumped him. When she had called him to ask why he not contacted her since the weekend they spent together, he answered coldly, "I have no idea what you're talking about," and hung up on her. A few weeks later, as if his 'sweet revenge' had awakened some inner dam that had inspired him with a sense of confidence and ruthless power, he became a rapist and murderer.
